After my year leading nature tours in Portugal, Spain and France, I joined a wine company with vineyards in the Douro, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Always drawn to projects related to the natural environment, the wine industry attracted me with its mentions of terroir, climate and rural livelihoods. From the cellars and offices in Porto, I worked as the sales and marketing director for Cálem. So, in my early thirties, whether coordinating branding projects or increasing sales in foreign markets, it was rewarding to gain experience with a nature-based product.
